This year the RVHS volleyball team had a lot of success. With success comes players getting awards for the season. This is the first year of the new Big East League, and 3 Panthers were recognized by the league. Senior Sammy Klotz made 1st team All-League and 1st team All-State in 3A. Freshman Karis Miller made 2nd team All-League and junior Madison Blackwood made Honorable Mention.
Coach G had this to say about this season “I’m really proud of the team. I wish I could've nominated everyone but these 3 are outstanding players and they are even better people off the court. I know they will do more great things in the future.”
The three Panthers gave their thoughts on this shared accomplishment:
Sammy Klotz: “I think being in a league full of talented players like the Big East means even more to me to be selected as one of the top players around.”
Karis Miller: “This season was a great experience for my freshman year. I am very proud of what we accomplished, by making it to state! Also, playing in a very tough league with a lot of talent and earning 2nd team all-league is a blessing. This is only the beginning and I'm excited for what's to come in the future!”
Madison Blackwood: “I thought that with the new league we really stepped up. We were a really close team which helped a lot when we got on the court. I am very excited to be recognized, and the team will continue to put in the work for next year.”
