On Friday, November 8th, three Royal Valley seniors, Makkeyo Mahkuk, Jeeps Matya, and Elayna Smith, attended Washburn Art Day with Royal Valley art teacher Ms. Chenoweth. The students attended workshops like Silk Screen printing, Clay Creatures, t-shirt printing, Abstract Acrylic Painting, and more. They ate lunch on campus and afterward, everyone participated in “Augmented Reality,” which was a scavenger hunt with QR codes that showed a VR world with a scene and information when scanned.
When asked about the trip, Makkeyo said, “I really enjoyed the creative workshops that they had, and my favorite part was making the Clay Creatures and getting to learn new art styles.”
