On Tuesday, November 12th the JV scholars bowl team traveled to Seneca for the Nemaha Central Invitational. Mostly new members made up the team, including: Josie Shelton (who was the highest scoring member), Addilyn Lefferd, Lauryn Caviness, Sofie Liggatt, Arianna Faulkner, and Jeven Smith. The team tied for first place in their pool but lost the tie breaker to Nemaha Central.
Mr. Smith, the Scholars Bowl coach, said it was “A very good performance for them!!!”
Lauryn Caviness, a sophomore on the team, said “I enjoyed going 6-1, answering the questions, and having a good time with my fellow teammates.”
Sofie Liggatt, a junior on the team, said the experience of doing Scholars Bowl for the first time was “really good.” She also added that she “enjoyed learning a new activity and being with friends.”
